eBay UK's Simple Delivery now prices postage in five item-value bands. A small parcel up to 1 kg costs the buyer from £2.94 for items under £75, rising to £6.84 for items between £375 and £750, and choosing 'Royal Mail only' costs far more.
From 1 September 2026 eBay UK changed the postage prices buyers pay under Simple Delivery, the mandatory shipping programme for private sellers. Prices are now set by parcel size *and* the value of the item.
The new small-parcel prices (0–1 kg, any courier)
- Items under £75: £2.94
- £75 to £149.99: £3.38
- £150 to £224.99: £3.93
- £225 to £374.99: £5.81
- £375 to £750: £6.84
Heavier bands rise in the same way — a 10–20 kg parcel runs from £7.19 to £16.82 depending on item value. Selecting Royal Mail only in your postage preferences pushes prices much higher (from £10.80), so leave all couriers enabled unless you have a specific reason not to.
Free Click & Collect on cheap fashion
Between 1 September and 31 October 2026 eBay is offering free InPost locker Click & Collect on fashion items priced £20 or under, which can make low-value listings more attractive to buyers.
What sellers should do
- Check the postage price shown on your live listings — the buyer sees the new figure automatically.
- If you offer free postage, remember the new rate is deducted from your proceeds.
- Enter accurate weights and dimensions when listing so eBay does not assign a bigger, more expensive band than necessary.
Simple Delivery couriers are Evri, Royal Mail, InPost (QR code only) and DHL (home collection). Yodel is no longer offered following its absorption into InPost.
