Vinted Labels: Printed or QR Code? Which Do You Need?

Written by · updated · checked against Vinted help centre: shipping methods and InPost UK: print-free sending · how we check

After a sale on Vinted, the first question is usually whether anything needs printing. In 2026 the answer is no. Every carrier Vinted uses gives you a QR code in the app and by email, and Royal Mail has gone QR-only. This guide explains how the label works for each carrier, where to take it, the one place you should never take a Vinted parcel, and when the optional printed label is worth using.

    The short answer

InPost: QR code scanned at the locker or InPost Shop (a printable label is offered too). Evri: QR code shown at a ParcelShop or scanned at an Evri locker (printable label optional). Royal Mail: QR code only; show it at a Post Office, Collect+ shop, Royal Mail locker or customer service point and the label is printed for you. There is no PDF and you cannot use a postbox. DPD and Relay: QR code scanned at the shop. A printer is never required on Vinted.

    How the label reaches you

When a buyer pays, they have already chosen the carrier at checkout from the ones you enabled, and Vinted puts the label in the app under the sold item and in the confirmation email. For every carrier it is a QR code; for InPost and Evri there is also a 'print label' option that produces a PDF. You have five working days from the sale to get the parcel scanned by the carrier, extendable by three or five days in the app if the buyer agrees.

    InPost: scan at the locker

Open the QR code, tap 'Send a parcel' on the locker screen, scan it (brightness up) or type the code shown under it, choose the compartment size and close the door. The locker prints its own small label internally, so there is nothing to attach. At an InPost Shop staff scan the code and print a temporary label. The printed PDF is for sellers who prefer to attach the label at home or who are sending several parcels at once; it is not required.

Evri: show it at the counter or scan it at an Evri locker

At a ParcelShop the staff scan the code and the label prints at the counter; at one of Evri's own lockers (installed since March 2026) the terminal prints it. Keep the receipt or the on-screen confirmation, because ParcelShop parcels are usually scanned at the evening collection and the receipt is your proof until then. The printed label is useful if a shop's printer is down or for the letterbox-sized Postable service, where Evri's own pages are inconsistent about in-shop printing.

Royal Mail: QR code only, never a postbox

Vinted no longer issues a printable Royal Mail label. Take the parcel and the QR code to any of 11,500 Post Office branches, around 8,000 Collect+ 'Royal Mail Shop' counters (usually open later), one of Royal Mail's 2,600 lockers, or a customer service point at a delivery office, and the label is printed and applied there. A parcel postbox only works for a parcel that already has a prepaid barcoded label on it, which a Vinted Royal Mail parcel does not, and Vinted's help page warns that an unscanned parcel is not covered. Buyers can also choose to collect from a Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker.

DPD, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express

DPD and Relay, offered in some regions, issue a QR code scanned at the shop. AnyVan, used for large items, is a collection where you give the driver the code. DHL Express, which handles the UK-to-Australia corridor that opened in 2026, offers a QR code for parcel-shop drop-off or a printable label for courier pick-up. None of them require a printer.

    If you do print

Print the InPost or Evri PDF at 100% scale on A4 so the barcode is the right size, cut it out and tape it flat across its whole surface with the barcode uncovered. Do not print a screenshot of the QR code: a low-resolution print will not scan, and the printed label is a different document from the QR code anyway.

    Worked example

Three sales in a week. Sale one, InPost: the code scans at the Aldi locker on Saturday night, no paper involved. Sale two, Evri: the newsagent scans the screenshot, prints the label and hands over a receipt. Sale three, Royal Mail: the seller walks past a postbox, which would have been a mistake, and instead shows the QR code at the Collect+ counter in the Co-op at 7pm, where the label is printed and the parcel scanned. No printer was used for any of the three.

From sale to scan without a printer

    1. 1
Open the Vinted app, go to the sold item and check which carrier the buyer chose
    2. 2
Tap 'Show QR code'; the same code is in the confirmation email, so screenshot it as a backup
    3. 3
InPost: scan it at any locker or InPost Shop and choose the compartment size on screen
    4. 4
Evri: show it at a ParcelShop counter or scan it at an Evri locker
    5. 5
Royal Mail: show it at a Post Office, Collect+ shop, Royal Mail locker or customer service point, never a postbox
    6. 6
If you would rather attach the label yourself for InPost or Evri, tap the printable label option, print at 100% on A4 and tape it flat
    7. 7
Get the parcel scanned within five working days of the sale, or request an extension in the app

Label mistakes that cost Vinted sellers

    • Dropping a Royal Mail parcel in a postbox; Vinted's Royal Mail label is a QR code that must be scanned at a counter, kiosk or locker
    • Assuming you still need a printer for Royal Mail; the PDF label was replaced by a QR code
    • Taking an Evri code to an InPost locker (or the other way round); the networks are separate and the code is rejected
    • Printing a screenshot of the QR code at low resolution instead of showing the live code or printing the proper label
    • Sending with your own postage instead of the Vinted label; the order is not covered and can be cancelled

    Questions sellers ask about this

Does Vinted Royal Mail need a printed label, or can I just show my phone?

Just show your phone. Vinted issues Royal Mail labels as a QR code in the app and by email, and there is no printable version. Take the parcel to a Post Office, a Collect+ shop, a Royal Mail locker or a customer service point at a delivery office; the code is scanned and the label printed and applied there. Vinted's help page says not to use a postbox, because the parcel needs its first scan to be tracked and covered.

Can I still print a label for InPost or Evri?

Yes. For InPost and Evri, Vinted offers both a QR code and a printable label. Most sellers use the QR code because it is quicker, but the printed label is handy if you are sending several parcels at once or your phone battery is unreliable. Print it at 100% scale on A4 so the barcode is the correct size, cut it out and tape it flat with the barcode uncovered.

What if the QR code does not load in the app?

Check your connection, force-close and reopen the app, and return to the order; the code also sits in the confirmation email. At an InPost locker you can type the code shown under the QR instead of scanning, and ParcelShop staff can usually type an Evri code in too. If the code will not load at all, contact Vinted support through the app with the order number; the code is generated by Vinted, not by the carrier.

Where can I drop off a Vinted Royal Mail parcel without a printer?

Anywhere Royal Mail can scan the QR code: any of 11,500 Post Office branches, around 8,000 Collect+ 'Royal Mail Shop' counters in convenience stores (usually open later than Post Offices), Royal Mail's 2,600 lockers, or a customer service point at a delivery office. Collect+ counters are the easiest after work. Parcel postboxes are for parcels with a prepaid barcoded label already attached, so they do not work with Vinted's QR code.

Which Vinted carriers use QR codes?

All of them. InPost, Evri, DPD, Relay and Royal Mail issue QR codes that are scanned at the drop-off point; AnyVan collections use a code you give the driver; and DHL Express offers a QR code for parcel-shop drop-off or a printable label for courier pick-up. InPost and Evri also let you print a label if you prefer. No Vinted carrier requires you to own a printer.
