StockX Shipping for UK Sellers: Deadlines, Labels and Verification

StockX's help centre is explicit: 'as a general rule, sellers have two (2) business days to ship sales of new, unworn items' from the sale, and 'you're expected to hand the package to the carrier within two (2) business days'. The clock runs in business days, so a Friday evening sale is due by Tuesday. Items sold on their release day get three extra business days (five in total) to allow retail deliveries to arrive, and items sold shortly after release get a sliding allowance — four business days if sold the day after release, three if sold two days after.

Miss the window and StockX can cancel the order, charge a penalty fee and restrict your account; if the item is not shipped within 30 days the order is cancelled automatically, the buyer refunded and the seller charged a penalty. StockX works with several carriers and UK sellers normally receive a UPS label, dropped at a UPS Access Point or service centre — keep the receipt, because the drop-off scan is what proves you shipped on time. StockX charges UK sellers a shipping fee for the label, deducted from the payout along with the transaction fee, so check the fee breakdown on the sale before you confirm.

The label is addressed to a StockX verification centre, not to the buyer. Every item is inspected there for authenticity and condition; only then is it forwarded to the buyer and your payout released. That is why the packing rules exist: the centre needs to receive a new, unworn pair in its original box, exactly as listed.

Put the shoes in their original box with the original packaging, then put that box inside a sturdy shipping box. Do not tape, write on or stick the label to the shoe box — it is part of the product and a damaged box can fail verification or reduce the payout. Use paper or air pillows to stop the shoe box sliding, seal the outer box on every seam, and attach the StockX label to the outer box. Include the StockX invoice inside if the order asks for it.

Match the listing exactly: size, colourway, condition (new and unworn unless you sold in a used category), and nothing missing — extra laces, hang tags and inserts that the box shipped with should still be there. Photograph the shoes, the box label with the size and style code, and the packed parcel before sealing. If the verification centre finds a discrepancy, the item is returned to you and a fee charged; the photos are your evidence in any dispute.

GOAT (now the alias app for sellers) emails a prepaid, pre-addressed label after the order is confirmed and asks for one box per item; UK sellers have reported a DHL label with free pickup, and the deadline is 3 business days. Laced, the London-based platform, issues a prepaid UPS label to drop at a UPS access point and expects the parcel within 2 working days, with refunds and fines for late shipping. Klekt gives a prepaid label with the carrier stated on the order and its published deadline is inconsistent between pages (48 hours on its blog, 72–96 hours in its FAQ), so treat the deadline shown on your order as the one that counts.

All of them ship to an authentication hub first, all of them expect the original box inside a shipping box, and all of them penalise late or mismatched shipments. If you sell across several, keep a single list of open orders and their deadlines — the platforms do not remind you in the same way, and business-day counts differ.

The authentication platforms buy you a higher price and a protected sale, at the cost of fees, a strict clock and a two-leg journey. On Vinted, eBay Simple Delivery or Depop the buyer pays the postage, you use an InPost, Evri or Royal Mail label the same day, and there is no hub — but there is also no authentication unless the buyer pays for Vinted's item verification or the item qualifies for eBay's programme, and a boxed pair of trainers will not fit an InPost Small or Medium compartment (a boxed adult pair usually needs the Large compartment, 41 cm deep). For hyped or limited releases the StockX route is normally worth it; for everyday pairs, the marketplaces are quicker and cheaper.
