How the Shipping Rules Checker Works

Our Shipping Rules Checker cross-references each courier's published rules with each marketplace's help centre to give you an instant answer. Select your marketplace (Vinted, Depop, eBay, Etsy or Whatnot) and courier (InPost, Evri, Royal Mail, or Yodel for what replaced it) to see:

    • Compatibility: whether this courier is supported on your marketplace
    • Label method: QR code, printed label, or post office counter
    • Drop-off method: locker, ParcelShop, Post Office, or home collection
    • Size and weight limits: so you know before you pack
    • Warnings: things that commonly go wrong with this combination

Every combination was verified against official courier and marketplace documentation on . Two things changed most in 2026: Royal Mail on Vinted became QR-code only, and Yodel's network became InPost, so it is no longer offered on eBay. Read how we check our information.

    Vinted

    3 of 3 couriers

The UK's most popular second-hand fashion marketplace. Vinted generates a prepaid label after every sale, the buyer pays the postage, and the buyer picks the carrier at checkout from InPost, Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Relay, AnyVan and DHL Express.

    • InPost: QR code in the Vinted app (or a printable label if you prefer). Drop off at any InPost locker (24/7 at most sites) or InPost Shop. Max 15kg (InPost network limit).
    • Evri: QR code in the Vinted app (or a printable label). Drop off at evri ParcelShop or Evri locker. Max 15kg.

    Depop

    2 of 3 couriers

Popular with Gen Z sellers for vintage and streetwear. Depop Shipping gives UK sellers a tracked Evri label (QR code or printable) in a few taps, or you can arrange your own courier with the 'Other' option and add the tracking number yourself.

    • Evri: Depop Shipping: Evri QR code emailed to you (or a printable label). Drop off at evri ParcelShop or Evri locker. Max 5kg via Depop Shipping (15kg if you buy your own Evri label).
    • Royal Mail: 'Other' shipping: buy your own postage (Royal Mail app, Click & Drop or Post Office counter). Drop off at post Office, Royal Mail parcel postbox (prepaid labels only) or Parcel Collect from home. Max 20kg.
    • Not available: InPost: InPost is not integrated with Depop; Depop Shipping is Evri-only

    eBay

    3 of 3 couriers

The UK's largest general marketplace. Since April 2025 private sellers must use eBay Simple Delivery for eligible items: eBay prices the postage, the buyer pays it, and you get a QR code or label for Evri, Royal Mail, InPost or DHL.

    • InPost: Simple Delivery: QR code plus a 6-digit locker code (no printable label). Drop off at inPost locker or InPost Shop; buyers can also collect from a locker. Max 15kg.

    • Royal Mail: Simple Delivery: printable label or QR code. Drop off at post Office, Royal Mail locker / Collect+ point, or Royal Mail home collection. Max 20kg.

    Etsy

    2 of 3 couriers

    • Evri: Etsy label (printable) for Evri. Drop off at evri ParcelShop or Evri locker. Max 15kg.

    Whatnot

    1 of 3 couriers

Whatnot is a live-stream selling platform for collectibles, trading cards, comics and vintage. UK sellers must ship with the prepaid Royal Mail labels Whatnot generates; the buyer pays Whatnot for postage and the label is free to the seller on most orders.

    • Royal Mail: Prepaid Royal Mail label generated by Whatnot (printable), which you must use. Drop off at post Office or a Royal Mail collection booked through Whatnot. Max 20kg (Royal Mail limit).
    • Not available: InPost, Evri: InPost is not used for Whatnot UK orders

    Amazon

    2 of 3 couriers

The UK's largest marketplace. Small sellers list on an Individual (75p per item) or Professional (£25 a month) account and either send stock to Amazon (FBA) or ship each order themselves (FBM) using Amazon's Buy Shipping labels for Royal Mail, Evri, DPD or Amazon Shipping.

    • Evri: Buy Shipping label (PDF); choose the 'drop off' service for ParcelShops and lockers. Drop off at evri ParcelShop or Evri locker (drop-off service); Standard and Next Day are courier collections. Max 15kg.
    • Royal Mail: Buy Shipping label (PDF): Tracked 24/48, 1st/2nd Class and Special Delivery. Drop off at post Office, Collect+ shop, Royal Mail locker, parcel postbox (barcoded) or Parcel Collect. Max 20kg.

Long the UK's collection-only classifieds site, Gumtree added 'Delivery on Gumtree' in November 2025: for fashion, kids', entertainment and home-textile items up to £250 the buyer pays for an Evri label, you post within 7 calendar days, and Mangopay releases the money 48 hours after delivery.

    • Evri: Delivery on Gumtree: prepaid Evri label, print at home or QR code. Drop off at evri ParcelShop or Evri locker; delivered to the buyer's door or to an Evri shop or locker. Max 15kg (Evri limit).
    • Not available: InPost, Royal Mail: InPost is not part of Delivery on Gumtree

    Common Questions

How often is this information updated?

Every combination is checked against the marketplace's and courier's own help pages, and each result shows the date it was last verified. Rule changes, such as eBay's September 2026 price change or Yodel becoming InPost, are recorded on our Updates page with a link to the source.

Can I use any courier with any marketplace?

No. Vinted offers seven carriers chosen by the buyer; Depop Shipping is Evri-only, with an 'Other' option for shipping yourself; eBay Simple Delivery assigns Evri, Royal Mail, InPost or DHL; Etsy sells Royal Mail and Evri labels; Whatnot issues Royal Mail labels you must use. Yodel is no longer available anywhere; it became InPost in July 2026.

What if my combination isn't listed?

If a specific combination isn't in our database, it's likely not a standard option. Check the marketplace's official shipping documentation or contact their support.
