Can You Drop Off Evri Parcels at InPost Lockers?
Written by Omair Sao · updated · checked against InPost UK: print-free sending and Evri: ParcelShop delivery · how we check
This is the wasted trip we hear about most. For a while Evri parcels could go into selected InPost lockers, and the forum posts and screenshots from that period are still online, so sellers new to Vinted or Depop set off for the nearest InPost locker with an Evri code. The answer has been no since 1 March 2025. This guide explains what changed, what happens at the screen if you try, where Evri parcels go instead and how to check the courier before you leave the house.
The short answer
No. InPost lockers stopped accepting Evri parcels on 1 March 2025, when the partnership between the two companies ended, and the two networks are completely separate. An InPost locker only opens for an InPost QR code or code; an Evri code is rejected at the screen. Evri parcels go to an Evri ParcelShop (more than 9,000 of them) or to one of Evri's own lockers, which it began installing in March 2026. Check the courier name in the Vinted, eBay or Depop app before you leave.
Why the confusion exists
Between 2023 and early 2025 a partnership allowed Evri parcels to be dropped in selected InPost lockers. It was convenient and widely discussed, which is why guides, Reddit threads and TikTok clips from that period still say you can. The arrangement ended on 1 March 2025 and InPost's own sending pages now describe lockers as taking InPost parcels only. Nothing since has reversed it: Evri's answer to the 24/7 problem was to build its own lockers, not to rejoin InPost's.
What happens if you try
The locker screen asks you to scan or type an InPost code. An Evri QR code is simply not recognised, and the keypad will not accept an Evri reference, so no compartment opens and nothing is charged. You lose the walk and, on Vinted, a slice of the five working days you have to get the parcel scanned. An InPost Shop cannot help either; the counter scans InPost codes only.
Where Evri parcels go instead
Evri ParcelShops are counters in convenience stores, newsagents, supermarkets and petrol stations; staff scan the QR code, print the label and give you a receipt, and the parcel is usually scanned into the network at the evening collection. Since March 2026 Evri has also been installing its own lockers, which take parcels up to 62 × 57 × 39 cm and 15 kg, print the label at the terminal and scan immediately. The Evri app shows both. Evri's limits are more generous than InPost's for awkward parcels: 15 kg, 120 cm on the longest side and 245 cm combined at a ParcelShop.
How to tell which courier Vinted chose
On Vinted the buyer picks the carrier at checkout from the ones you have enabled, so the courier can differ from sale to sale. Open the Vinted app, go to the sold item and the shipping screen names the carrier (InPost, Evri, Royal Mail, DPD, Relay, AnyVan or DHL Express) next to the QR code. On eBay the order page names the Simple Delivery courier; on Depop, Depop Shipping is always Evri. Read the name, then open that courier's own app to find the drop-off point.
If you would rather only ever use one network, Vinted lets you switch individual carriers on or off in Settings, then Shipping. Turning Evri off means buyers can no longer choose it, which narrows their options and can cost a sale on bulkier items, but it does guarantee that every parcel goes to a locker you know.
The other way round, and the other couriers
The rule is symmetrical. An InPost parcel cannot be handed in at an Evri ParcelShop or Evri locker, a Royal Mail QR code only works at a Post Office, Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker, and none of them accept each other's parcels. Yodel, which some older guides mention, no longer exists as a brand: its network became InPost in July 2026, so a 'Yodel' drop-off shop is now an InPost Shop and takes InPost parcels.
Worked example
A buyer chooses Evri for a pair of boots because the boxed pair is too deep for an InPost Medium. The seller, used to InPost, walks to the Tesco locker, scans the Vinted QR code and gets an error. The Vinted shipping screen says Evri. The Evri app shows a ParcelShop in the newsagent two streets away, open until 9pm, and an Evri locker outside a Co-op a mile further on. The newsagent scans the code, prints the label and hands over a receipt; the first scan appears the next morning after the evening collection.
Getting the parcel to the right network
- 1Open the marketplace app and read the courier name next to the QR code; on Vinted it is on the sold-item screen
- 2If it says InPost, use the InPost app to find a locker with a free compartment of the right size
- 3If it says Evri, use the Evri app to find a ParcelShop in its opening hours or an Evri locker
- 4If it says Royal Mail, go to a Post Office, Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker, never a postbox
- 5Screenshot the QR code before you leave in case the shop has no signal
- 6Keep the receipt or locker confirmation until the buyer has received the parcel
How the wrong-network trip happens
- Assuming every locker and drop-off point takes every courier; each network takes only its own parcels
- Relying on a 2023 or 2024 guide that still describes the old Evri and InPost partnership
- Not reading the courier name before leaving home; on Vinted it changes from sale to sale
- Confusing an Evri locker with an InPost locker; they are different machines on different networks
- Turning Evri off in Vinted's settings to avoid the problem without realising it narrows buyers' choices
