Frequently Asked Questions
Does InPost require a printed label or is a QR code enough?
InPost uses QR codes only, so no printer is ever needed for InPost. At the locker, you scan the QR code from your phone screen and the locker prints a small internal label automatically. When using InPost via Vinted or eBay, the QR code is generated directly in the marketplace app. This is InPost's biggest practical advantage for resellers without a printer at home.
How do I get an InPost QR code for Vinted without printing anything?
When your Vinted item sells and you select InPost, the Vinted app generates a QR code automatically. Open the Vinted app, go to your active sales, and find the QR code under shipping details. At the InPost locker, tap 'Send a parcel', select 'QR code', and hold your phone up to the scanner. The locker opens, with no printing required at any stage.
Does Royal Mail on Vinted require a printed label?
No. Royal Mail on Vinted is QR-code only. Vinted shows the code in the app and emails it to you; take the parcel to a Post Office, Collect+ shop, Royal Mail locker or customer service point, have the code scanned, and the label is printed and applied for you. Vinted's help page says not to use a postbox, because the parcel needs its first scan to be tracked and covered.
Can I use Evri without printing a label for Depop UK?
Yes. Depop Shipping does it for you. Choose Depop Shipping when you list, and after the sale Depop emails you an Evri QR code (it is also in the order). Show it at any Evri ParcelShop or scan it at an Evri locker; the label is printed there and tracking is added to the order automatically. If you ship yourself under 'Other', book on evri.com and pick 'print in ParcelShop' for a QR code, then add the tracking number manually.
Do I need a printer to sell on Vinted, eBay or Depop UK?
No. Every Vinted carrier issues a QR code (Royal Mail is QR-only, InPost and Evri also offer a printable label if you want one). Depop Shipping emails you an Evri QR code. eBay Simple Delivery gives QR codes for InPost (QR-only), Evri and Royal Mail. Etsy's Royal Mail labels bought on the website come with a QR code printed at the Post Office. You only need a printer if you buy your own Royal Mail postage without using the app's QR option, or for Whatnot's prepaid Royal Mail labels.
How does the Evri QR code drop-off work at a ParcelShop?
Book your Evri shipment through the Evri app or website. On the label selection screen, choose 'QR code at ParcelShop'. You'll receive a QR code on your phone. Take your parcel to any Evri ParcelShop (found in Co-ops, newsagents, Asda stores), show the QR code, and staff scan it and attach a printed label. You get a receipt and email confirmation. The drop-off typically takes under 2 minutes.
Does eBay Simple Delivery use QR codes or printed labels?
Both, depending on the courier eBay assigns. InPost is QR code (plus a six-digit code) only; there is no printable InPost label. Evri and Royal Mail come as a printable label or a QR code: Evri's is scanned at a ParcelShop or locker, Royal Mail's at a Post Office, Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker. DHL is a QR code for home collection. Labels are valid for seven days.
What label type does Yodel use for eBay sellers?
None any more. Yodel was retired on 17 July 2026 and its network became InPost, and eBay removed it from Simple Delivery. Former Yodel drop-off shops are now InPost Shops that scan InPost QR codes. If you used Yodel for heavy parcels, eBay now offers Royal Mail (up to 20 kg) or DHL home collection (up to 30 kg).
