eBay partners with InPost for locker drop-off and Click & Collect in the UK

    Affects:InPosteBay

eBay and InPost announced a partnership on 27 November 2025 that brings InPost lockers into eBay's Simple Delivery programme, both for sellers sending parcels and for buyers collecting them. Until then Simple Delivery had meant Evri or Royal Mail, with Yodel for heavy parcels; InPost gave it a 24/7, printer-free option for the first time.

    What changed

    • Sellers receive an InPost QR code and a six-digit code after a sale. There is no printable InPost label on eBay. Scan the code (or type it on the keypad) at any InPost locker or InPost Shop.
    • Buyers can select an InPost locker as their delivery address at checkout and collect at any hour the locker is accessible, at a lower Click & Collect price (from £2.26 for a small parcel, against £2.94 for home delivery since September 2026).
    • InPost's standard limits apply: 15 kg and 41 × 38 × 64 cm, and no batteries, liquids or aerosols. eBay will not offer InPost on listings in categories those rules exclude, such as phones and perfume.

    Why it matters for sellers

    • No printer and no queue. Locker drop-off takes under a minute and most sites are open around the clock.
    • Cheaper for buyers who collect. The Click & Collect rate makes a locker listing more attractive at checkout, and eBay has run free locker Click & Collect promotions on low-value fashion (most recently on items up to £20 from 1 September to 31 October 2026).
    • Tracking from the first scan. The locker scan uploads to eBay automatically, which is what starts eBay's loss and damage cover.

    What to do

    1. Leave InPost enabled in your Simple Delivery postage preferences; excluding couriers raises the buyer's price.
    2. When a buyer's order shows InPost, pack to fit a compartment (measure the depth: 8, 19 or 41 cm) and check availability in the InPost app.
    3. Scan the QR code at the locker, or type the six-digit code if the scanner will not read your screen; tracking updates in eBay automatically.
    4. If the parcel will not fit any compartment, take it to an InPost Shop, where staff scan the code and take the parcel over the counter.

    Worked example

A jumper sold for £22 to a buyer who chooses locker collection. You get an InPost QR code, fold the jumper into a mailing bag (about 6 cm deep, so a Small compartment) and drop it at the nearest locker on the way to work. The buyer pays the Click & Collect rate rather than the £2.94 home-delivery price, the first scan happens at the locker, and the buyer collects with a code from the InPost app whenever suits them.
