From August 2025 Vinted buyers can choose a Collect+ ParcelShop or a Royal Mail locker as their delivery point, on top of the seller-side drop-off that already existed. It is the change that turned Royal Mail on Vinted from a Post Office queue into something closer to the InPost experience.
How it works
- Sellers: Vinted issues a QR code for Royal Mail orders. There is no printable label. Show it at a Post Office, Collect+ shop, Royal Mail locker or customer service point and the label is printed for you. Do not put the parcel in a postbox: it needs its first scan to be tracked and covered.
- Buyers: at checkout, pick a Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker as the delivery address. A code arrives when the parcel is ready.
Why it matters
- Fewer failed deliveries and faster order completion, which means you are paid sooner.
- Longer opening hours. Collect+ counters in convenience stores are open well beyond Post Office hours, and Royal Mail lockers are accessible whenever the host site is.
- Wider coverage. Roughly 10,000 combined locations across the UK, on top of 11,500 Post Office branches.
Royal Mail versus the other Vinted carriers
Vinted buyers choose the carrier at checkout, so you do not control which one appears. Royal Mail is the one buyers pick for trust and for heavier items: it is the only Vinted carrier that goes to 20 kg, while InPost on Vinted is limited to the 2 kg standard tier and Evri to 15 kg. For the seller the practical differences are the drop-off (counter or Royal Mail locker, never an InPost locker) and the cover: Vinted's own protection applies to every integrated label up to £500, whichever carrier the buyer chose.
What to check
- Keep Royal Mail enabled in Settings, then Shipping. Turning it off narrows the buyer's choices and can lose a sale.
- Find the nearest Collect+ shop or Royal Mail locker in the Royal Mail app before you leave; not every locker takes drop-offs.
- Show the QR code, take the receipt or photograph the locker confirmation, and allow up to 48 hours for the first tracking scan to appear in Vinted.
- Mention locker and shop collection in your listings; it is a selling point for buyers who are rarely home.
Worked example
A winter coat sold on Vinted, packed in a mailing bag at 1.8 kg and 45 × 35 × 12 cm. The buyer chose Royal Mail and a Royal Mail locker for collection. You scan the Vinted QR code at a Collect+ counter after work, the label is printed and applied, and the buyer gets a code when the coat reaches their locker. A postbox would not have worked: the parcel is too big for the postbox slot and, more importantly, would never have been scanned.
What the seller sees in the app
After the sale, the Vinted order shows Royal Mail as the carrier with a QR code and, underneath it, the code as text in case the scanner at the counter cannot read your screen. There is no 'print label' button for Royal Mail, which confuses sellers used to InPost and Evri; the counter prints it. Once scanned, the order updates to shipped and the buyer sees the tracking; if the buyer chose locker or shop collection, the final scan shows the parcel waiting for them rather than delivered to a door.
Collect+ counters versus Post Offices
Both take the Vinted QR code and both print the label, so the choice is about hours and queues. Collect+ 'Royal Mail Shop' counters sit in convenience stores that open early and close late, seven days a week, and rarely have a queue; Post Offices close earlier, close on Sundays and have lunchtime queues, but every branch takes every Royal Mail service. Royal Mail lockers print the label from the QR code and are open whenever the host site is. A customer service point at a delivery office works too, within its counter hours.
