2025 courier changes: what still applies and what has been overtaken

Written by · updated · checked against Evri press release: the Evri Group , Wholesale Manager: first InPost lockers at Post Office branches , Evri: our prices and Royal Mail price guide, October 2026 · how we check

This page replaces four short posts from 2025. Each of them described a change that mattered at the time; a year on, two of them still shape how UK resellers send parcels and two have been overtaken by later changes. Rather than leave four pages that disagree with the current price tables, we have brought them together here with what has happened since.

Evri and DHL eCommerce UK merged (1 October 2025): still applies

Evri's merger with DHL eCommerce UK, cleared unconditionally by the Competition and Markets Authority on 4 September 2025, completed on 1 October 2025. The combined business trades as Evri Group; Evri itself keeps its name, its ParcelShops, its QR codes, the 15 kg limit and the £20 standard compensation.

What changed for sellers was capacity rather than rules. DHL eCommerce UK is being rebranded as "Evri Premium, a network of DHL" during 2026, aimed at retailers rather than marketplace sellers, and the enlarged network has more room in the run-up to Christmas, historically Evri's weakest period. Evri remains the courier for parcels that will not fit an InPost locker and the only courier inside Depop Shipping, and its reliability record is the main reason some buyers still prefer Royal Mail. The DHL that appears in eBay Simple Delivery (home collection up to 30 kg) is a separate DHL service, not Evri Premium.

InPost lockers at Post Office branches (November 2025): outcome unknown

InPost installed the first InPost Lockers at UK Post Office branches in November 2025, the visible start of a trial agreed in August 2025 that was due to run until the end of February 2026 across several hundred branches. The idea was a 24/7 InPost drop-off in the small towns where there is no supermarket locker, at the same stop sellers already use for Royal Mail.

As of October 2026 neither InPost nor the Post Office has published the outcome or a national rollout plan, so treat a Post Office locker near you as a bonus rather than something to rely on. InPost's growth has come from supermarkets instead: Tesco (around 1,000 sites), Aldi (600 and rising) and, from September 2026, up to 700 Asda stores, taking the network past 16,000 lockers. The InPost app is the reliable way to find the nearest one. Royal Mail is separately trialling its own lockers outside Post Offices (from January 2026); those take Royal Mail parcels, not InPost ones.

Evri summer sale 2025 (40p off parcels under 1 kg): ended

In summer 2025 Evri took 40p off parcels up to 1 kg booked on evri.com, applied automatically at checkout for a few weeks aimed at the peak clothing-selling season. The promotion ended and has not been repeated in 2026.

Evri's standard prices in October 2026, including VAT, tracking and £20 of cover, are £2.62 to a ParcelShop or £3.04 to a home address for a small parcel under 1 kg, £3.52 for a 1 to 2 kg small parcel, £6.59 for 2 to 5 kg and £10.28 for 10 to 15 kg. The letterbox-sized Postable service is £2.70. Evri describes its small-parcel rate as a promotional price with no published end date, so check evri.com before you book. None of this reaches marketplace orders: on Vinted and eBay the buyer pays the marketplace's price, and Depop Shipping charges the buyer a fixed tier.

Royal Mail April 2025 prices: superseded twice

Royal Mail's April 2025 change took the 2nd Class stamp to 85p and the 1st Class stamp to £1.65, with a Small Parcel from £3.35 by 2nd Class at the counter and Tracked 48 Small Parcel from £3.49 online. Those figures have been overtaken twice:

    • 7 April 2026: 1st Class stamp to £1.80, 2nd Class to 91p; Tracked 48 Small Parcel to £3.65 online; 2nd Class Small Parcel to £3.95 online.
    • 5 October 2026: Tracked 48 Small Parcel to £3.75, Tracked 24 to £4.80, 2nd Class Small Parcel to £4.40, 2nd Class Medium Parcel to £7.00 (2 kg), £9.00 (10 kg) and £13.70 (20 kg), Special Delivery from £9.85 and Parcel Collect to 50p a parcel. Letter and Large Letter stamps did not change.

Royal Mail now changes prices more than once a year. If you set your own postage on Depop or Etsy, review it each April and October, and buy online rather than at the counter: a Tracked 48 Small Parcel is £3.75 online against £4.70 over the counter.

    The one-line version

Evri is bigger and no different to use; the Post Office locker trial went quiet; Evri's 2025 discount is gone; and every Royal Mail price from 2025 is wrong now, so use the current price table.
